Precision Engineering provided engineering services for the design, configuration, and installation of an Intelligent Tranportation System (ITS) for the Florida Department of Transportation. The fully integrated, wireless system installed for the I-10 / I-110 Project includes ten Remote Traffic Microwave Stations (RTMS) to monitor speed and traffic volumes; six Highway Advisory Radios (HAR) to broadcast traffic conditions to motorists via radio; six Variable Message Signs (VMS) to display traffic conditions to motorists via text messages; and ten remote cameras to stream live video images of the traffic conditions to a Control Station Software Operator Interface and website. All field devices are solar powered and communicate with the operator interface via digital cellular communications.
