Precision Engineering provided control system engineering for a new Batch Reactor, Batch Dryer, and Packaging system for Sartomer in Chatom, Alabama. Sartomer executed the installation of this equipment as two separate projects. The Batch Reactor was installed in 2002 and the Batch Dryer/Packaging system was installed in 2004. Precision Engineering provided DCS configuration, HMI configuration, instrument design, electrical design, checkout, startup and control panel assembly for this project. The DCS installed for this project was Emerson DeltaV. The project included configuration of approximately 250 I/O points with the majority of the I/O communicating Foundation Fieldbus and ASi. The project also included a dozen operator graphics and multiple custom batch sequences using SFC sequence logic.
