2001 to Present
Control Systems Engineer responsible for detailed engineering design and configuration of control systems. Provides PLC programming, DCS programming, instrument and electrical engineering for multiple projects. 1998 to 2001 Factory Systems Electrical Engineer at the Acordis Rayon Plant responsible to configure, install, and maintain the plant Foxboro Intelligent Automation (IA) System. In addition, duties included maintaining and modifying Honeywell PLC’s and plant single loop controllers. Projects included converting obsolete control systems to the new Foxboro IA DCS. Other responsibilities included providing instrumentation and power distribution design for plant projects. Instrument and electrical engineering include instrument specifications, instrument loop drawings, MCC one-lines, motor schematics and power distribution plans. 1996 to 1998 Engineering Services Engineer for Broadloom Carpet Dyeing and Finishing Ranges and Compounding Department at Milliken & Co. Responsibilities included design and installation of new equipment, maintaining ABB DCS, maintaining Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLC’s , and installing and maintaining variable speed drives. 1993 to 1995 Co-op Project Engineer at SMI Steel Corporation. Duties included starting up a $1 million additive system for a new melt shop, installation and start-up of a new $30 million melt shop, installing a closed circuit television system for the new melt shop, drafting drawings in autocad and programming PLC’s (Automate and Modicon) |
