Electrical and Instrument Engineer responsible for detailed engineering and design of power distribution systems, lighting distribution and instrumentation systems. Projects include: graphical configuration for a propane gas loading facility; design and construction of four PLC control panels for a hurricane recovery project; electrical distribution design for expansion of a shipyard; electrical and control design and installation for marine crane manufacturer. 1994 to 1996 Managed the Electrical and Instrument Design Department. Provided leadership with responsibilities for design, layout, power system studies, instrument design and instrument specifications. Duties have also included voltage drop calculations, short circuit studies, lighting calculations and power system load studies. Some projects include Cyanoacetate expansion at Hüls America; J-Line facility upgrade at Montell located in Lake Charles, Louisiana; Incinerator Expansion at Kerr-McGee Hamilton, Mississippi; Boiler Expansion at Kerr-McGee Hamilton, Mississippi. 1989 to 1994 Electrical and Instrument engineer responsible for detailed engineering design of instrument and electrical power distribution systems. Duties also include equipment specifications of motor control centers, switchgear, power panels, lighting, transformers and Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS). Maintaining motor list, instrument index, cable schedules and voltage drop calculations are other responsibilities performed. Engineering support for developing electrical and instrument drawings such as loopsheets, motor schematics, one-lines, power plans, lighting plans, grounding plans, lightning protection plans, cables schedules and cable tray plans. Field support for installation of electrical and instrumentation systems for Chemical and Petro-Chemical plants. Projects include: Montell, USA extruder facility located in Lake Charles, Louisiana; installation and specification of instrumentation for new incinerator; voltage drop calculations and short circuit study using DAPPER software; electrical load studies; converting boiler instrumentation to DCS controls and installing lighting systems within a chlorine tank farm. 1986 to 1989 Electrical engineer in the overhaul and alterations division of a major shipbuilder of US Navy ships responsible for detail electrical system design. Duties included One-line diagrams, electric plant load analyses, Switchgear design, Load Center and MCC design, electrical distribution design, generator recommissioning, and cable and raceway design. Ensured compliance with applicable ship specifications, military standards, and military specifications. |
